Public Information Meeting for People affected by Pancreatic Cancer

Patients from across Ireland are invited to a public information meeting, ‘Meet the Experts’, taking place at 12pm on Friday, 2 October 2015 in Lewis Glucksman Gallery, University College Cork.

The meeting will give patients suffering from pancreatic cancer an opportunity to discuss their personal experiences with a team of pancreatic cancer experts, who will answer any questions patients may have about dealing with this diagnosis. Patients from all over Ireland and the United Kingdom are expected to attend this unique session which is free and open to the public. Over 480 new cases of pancreatic cancer are diagnosed each year with survival rates remaining startlingly low. However, with more research more effective treatments will be found to significantly improve the outcome for patients.

‘Meet the Experts’ is part of the 7th Southern Symposium on Foregut Cancers which will be taking place on this October in University College Cork and will be attended by nationally and internationally cancer experts.
