Paraguayan Delegation tour CCRC Lab

On Monday 23rd January, University College Cork welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC) in Paraguay to inaugurate an Eliza Lynch Annual Lecture in honour of a Cork Native who became a national heroine in Paraguay in the 19th Century.

 

The visitors, Dr. Jose Arce Farina, Vice-Minster Higher Education, Mr. Daniel Perez – Director of the National Council of Science and Technology CONACYT and Mr. Germán Escurra – Director of Planning at MEC Seek to develop further collaboration with UCC in Capacity Building, staff training and scholarships in priority areas for Paraguay which include Innovation and Technology, Health and Education. 

 

As part of their visit the delegation undertook a tour of the CCRC laboratory and heard about the cutting edge research into cancer treatments for poor prognosis cancers.
