Dr. John Larkin won the Oncology Award for his research with Cork Cancer Research Centre at the Irish Journal Medical Science Doctor Awards November 2007, held in the Shelbourne Hotel. The IJMS Doctor Awards recognise excellence in clinical research in association with the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland and are presented to doctors who have had clinical research papers published in an indexed journal anywhere in the world within the last year. Dr. John Larkin, have initially been short-listed, took the top oncology award for research that was published in the Annals of Surgery. Dr. Larkin’s research evaluated the surgical application of Electrochemotherapy in the treatment of unresponsive cancers. |
