CCRC Scientist Short-listed for Saint Luke’s Young Investigator Award
This is the fifth year of the Saint Luke’s Young Investigator Award. Young researchers in the field of clinical and/or basic and/or translational oncology research are encouraged to apply.
Dr. Geraldine O’Sullivan Coyne of Cork Cancer Research Centre was one of four finalists selected to deliver a short presentation (10 min, 5 min questions) of their research prior to the delivery of the St Luke’s Lecture on the evening of Wednesday 30 January 2008. The winner will receive a cheque for €800 and the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland Bronze Medal.
Short-listing of applicants was based upon:
- An abstract of the scientists work (<500 words).
- Brief CV including any publications.
Dr. Geraldine O'Sullivan Coyne's research at the CCRC examines the role of the COX-2 inhibitor and the effect of novel chemo preventative agents on oeophageal cancer cells.
