At the Annual Meeting of the Haematology Association of Ireland (October 17 - 19 2008), Dr Baukje Elzinga, who is working on a project funded by Cancer Research Ireland, received an award for best oral presentation by a specially selected jury under the chairmanship of Professor Mary Cahill, consultant haematologist at Cork University Hospital and president of HAI.
The title of Dr Elzinga’s presentation was ‘Altered sub-cellular localization of anti-apoptotic BCL-XL in murine and human cell models of chronic myeloid leukemia’.
